Sterling silver, embossed and cast; ebony
England, 1926
Hobson, James & Gilby (reg. 1919) - English silversmiths in Birmingham
Maker’s mark, city mark, silver standard mark and date letter to one side of the body; hallmarked again on the inside of the lid
Height, including the handle: 15 cm
Weight: circa 390 g
Very good condition

The teapot has a flattened bulbous body and stands on four flared hoof feet. The retracted shoulder passes into a flared and broad rim. The circular hinged lid has a spire-like knob. The swan necked spout is eight-lobed, and the C-handle is made from ebony.


Condition:

The teapot is in a very good condition, showing only the lightest signs of use. The height, including the handle, is 15 cm, and the weight is about 390 g. (cko)
