Description
A George V silver three piece bachelor tea service comprising teapot, twin handled sugar basin and cream jug, each of shaped oval form with vertical lobed corners, standing on four bun feet, the teapot with pearwood handle and finial, the cream jug and sugar basin with scroll handles. Hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd Birmingham, 1910. Combined weight 18.6 ozt 579 grams).
Condition
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with age and use. Numerous dents and dints are visible. Hinge quite loose to the teapot allowing significant sideways movement. The hallmarks and maker's marks are clear and legible on both the cream jug and sugar basin, but are heavily rubbed and illegible on the teapot.
