Item Details
Description
Excellent Cold War US Army Brigadier General's uniform. The uniform is constructed of high quality khaki gaberdine wool and features great insignia. The epaulettes feature beautiful bullion on khaki Brigadier General stars. The collar exhibits medical brass with snowflake back and marked "Amcraft / Attleboro Mass / Acid Test". The uniform boasts a 4-row fruit salad, featuring World War II service medals with the highest awards being the Legion of Merit, and the U.S. Army Distinguished Service Medal. The ribbon bars are all handsomely sewn to gaberdine backing, which was then neatly sewn above the pocket. The left shoulder features a post-WWII Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHAEF) patch and the right shoulder features a very nice variation of the 5th Army patch. Finally, the lower right sleeve features 6 gold bullion overseas bars, which compliment the campaign stars on the ETO ribbon. The jacket retains its original labels on the interior which are marked "Slavin Uniform Co.". Unfortunately the name on the label has been scratched out but due to the awards and rank, this uniform could researched. The ink recording the date has faded but appears to read "5/15/44". The tan silk lining completes the uniform, as do all of the original buttons. CONDITION: The tunic is very clean overall. There are a few repaired areas which are evident on the interior of the tunic. Lining remains intact with no major tears. Slightly loose areas on the points of the Brigadier General rank. Overall excellent. JLD
