ENGLISH STERLING SILVER-FRONT PICTURE FRAMES, LOT OF FIVE, each with glass and an easel back, comprising an oval example by E. Mander & Son of Birmingham with 1911 date mark, a small rectangular example by A.&J. Zimmerman Ltd. of Birmingham with 1919 date mark, a rectangular example by Sanders & Mackenzie of Birmingham with 1913 or 1938 date mark, and a rectangular pair by Sheffield maker without date marks and retailed by Scully & Scully of New York City, NY. Each with maker's mark and three hallmarks including a lion passant mark for sterling fineness, a city mark, and/or a date mark. 20th/21st century. Pair each 7 7/8" x 10" sight, 9 7/8" x 12" OA.
Provenance: From the Joseph and June Hennage collection, to benefit the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
Condition
Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, dents, slight bending, and/or worn spots to decoration.
